The U.S. Cyber Command (USCYBERCOM) is a military unit of the United States Department of Defense responsible for conducting cyber operations to defend the nation’s information infrastructure and assets, as well as providing support to military and national security missions. Established in 2009, USCYBERCOM operates under the direction of the U.S. Strategic Command (USSTRATCOM) and is led by a four-star general. In addition, USCYBERCOM conducts offensive operations as authorized, aiming to disrupt and degrade the capabilities of adversaries in cyberspace. The command also plays a vital role in providing technical expertise, intelligence, and operational support to combatant commanders and other government entities during military operations. It collaborates with the National Security Agency (NSA) to leverage its expertise in signals intelligence and cybersecurity. USCYBERCOM continues to evolve and enhance its capabilities to effectively respond to the ever-evolving cyber threats faced by the United States. The command actively recruits and develops a highly skilled workforce to ensure readiness and effectiveness in cyberspace operations.
