Wayne County Community College District (WCCCD) is a public two-year college system that serves the areas of Wayne County, Michigan, including Detroit. The college was established in 1967 and is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission. WCCCD consists of six campuses throughout Wayne County, offering more than 100 certificate and degree programs, in various areas such as arts and humanities, business, health sciences, public safety, and STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics). The college’s mission is to provide accessible and affordable education to serve the needs of the community, while promoting economic development and improving the quality of life for residents of Wayne County. WCCCD prides itself on its commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, offering programs and services that support students of all backgrounds. With a student population of over 30,000, WCCCD offers a variety of student resources, including academic advising, career services, tutoring, and student clubs and organizations. WCCCD is governed by a Board of Trustees and led by a Chancellor, who oversees the day-to-day operations of the college. The district employs over 1,500 faculty and staff members, dedicated to providing high-quality education to its students.
