When an end user doesn't connect their payroll account or employer directly, Truv Document Upload for public sector, Truv Document Processing for mortgage lenders, and Truv Doc Fraud Detection for consumer lending, auto lending, background screening, and tenant screening are their path forward.
While the three products are designed with features specific to each use case, the underlying infrastructure and user experience is consistent across the board. Truv's income document upload experience is a fully automated, built-in way to submit pay stubs, W2s, 1099s, 1040s, and other supporting files right inside Truv Bridge.
To make the experience more intuitive and easier for end users, we rebuilt it. Our upload solutions now guide users step by step, tell them exactly what's still needed, and support income documents from more than one employer or income source.
The new Doc Upload will be live for Truv clients on September 1, 2026.
The friction we set out to remove
Picture the old path. A user uploads a few files and hits submit, not entirely sure whether they've sent the right documents or enough of them. If a file was blurry, unsupported, or simply not what was needed, the action steps were not clearly stated.

What's new: guidance built into every step
The updated document upload experience is designed to keep users informed from the first file to the final confirmation.
New Doc Upload benefits:
- Catch quality of documents upfront: End user is notified in less than 15 seconds, guiding the end user to upload better documents as needed.
- Minimum document indicator: Auto-displays for end user and is set by clients in Truv Templates (ex. 2 pay stubs, 1 W2).
- Customizable minimum and maximum size of each document: Set by clients at the account level.
- Unsupported doc type error: Auto-displays for end user in less than 15 seconds, guiding the end user to add new files (ex. documents that are not password protected).
- Process bulk uploads in one pass: Truv auto-groups uploaded documents by employer in less than 15 seconds.
- Ability to add additional documents: End users can re-open the Truv experience and add more documents at any point, including post parsing.
- Last name mismatch display shown: End user has the ability to validate all documents are for the same user (ex. cases where a maiden name was changed).
- Enhanced auto-flagging for Truv clients: Auto-flags tampering or fraudulent documents and SSN mismatch, and errors moved from user level to employer level.
Following A/B testing, the results are higher conversion, fewer support tickets, and complete data on the first pass.
The result is an experience that behaves less like a drop box and more like a helpful guide. Now, Truv's solution reads each document, understands what it is, and tells the user what to do next when needed.
Supporting multi-income source scenarios
Our revamped solution supports multiple companies and employers in a single flow. Users can add another source and upload documents for each employer separately. For example, two pay stubs from Walmart and two from Home Depot, with each employer result tracked on its own so it's always clear what's been provided and what's still outstanding per employer. Everything comes together into one complete submission.
When everything checks out
Once a user has uploaded enough valid documents and processing finishes successfully, they're taken straight to a Success confirmation page. No extra taps, no ambiguity.
Why it matters for you
- Higher conversion rates. Clear guidance and on-time prompts mean fewer end users dropping off or exiting the experience mid-upload.
- Fewer support touches. When users understand exactly what's wrong and how to fix it in the moment, your team fields fewer friction-related back-and-forths and fewer "why won't my upload work?" questions.
- Better data on the first pass. Real-time classifying and parsing let you receive complete, actionable data from the first go without any crosschecks or guesswork.
- Coverage for complex income. Multi-employer support means end users with more than one job can fully represent their income in a single experience.
We've always built Truv's end-user experience with conversion and ease of use top of mind, and this update is a direct extension of that: give end users the guidance they need, exactly when they need it, so uploading documents feels like an intuitive, quick step toward their end goal.
