About Oregon State University
Oregon State University (OSU) is a public research university located in Corvallis, Oregon. It was founded in 1868 as a land-grant college, and is now one of only two universities in the country to have Sea Grant, Space Grant, and Sun Grant designations. OSU is also designated as a Carnegie Doctoral/Research-Extensive University. OSU offers over 200 undergraduate and graduate degree programs through its twelve colleges. The university enrolls more than 31,000 students, with nearly 5,000 of these being graduate students. The university has a diverse student population, with over 5,000 international students from 110 different countries. OSU boasts many notable research centers and institutes, including the Hatfield Marine Science Center, the Linus Pauling Institute, the Center for Genome Research and Biocomputing, and the Northwest National Marine Renewable Energy Center.
