About Japanese Community Youth Council

The Japanese Community Youth Council (JCYC) is a non-profit organization based in San Francisco, California. It was founded in 1970 to provide services and programs that enhance the education and personal development of Japanese American youth and their families. JCYC has four core programs: College Track, JCYC Youth Works, SF College Access Center, and Project Re-Connect. College Track is a college access and success program that supports over 450 low-income and first-generation college-bound students. Meanwhile, JCYC Youth Works is a youth employment program that provides job training and work experience to over 900 young people annually. The SF College Access Center provides college and financial aid advising to San Francisco Unified School District high school students and their families. Lastly, Project Re-Connect is a program that supports former juvenile justice-involved youth in successfully transitioning back into their communities. JCYC exists to empower Japanese American youth with skills, opportunities, and resources to reach their full potential. Since its inception, JCYC has impacted thousands of young people and is committed to continuing this mission in the future.
