About HELP USA
HELP USA is a non-profit organization that was established in 1986 by Andrew Cuomo, who at that time served as the chairman of the New York State Homeless Commission. HELP USA is committed to providing a wide range of services to the disadvantaged population including victims of domestic violence, homeless individuals and families, and veterans. HELP USA operates 51 shelter locations across six states including New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Nevada, Georgia, and Washington D.C. The organization offers a wide range of services including emergency shelters, transitional housing, and permanent housing with supportive services. HELP USA also provides job training and placement services to help members of the community gain employment and achieve financial independence. In addition to responding to the immediate needs of clients, HELP USA also works towards long-term solutions by advocating for social policies, providing education and training to prevent repeat homelessness and working with government agencies, corporations and other non-profits. Over the years, HELP USA has earned numerous accolades and recognition from various organizations for its commitment to serving the underserved communities.
