About Tween Brands

Tween Brands, Inc. was a specialty apparel retailer that operated stores under the Justice brand name. The company was founded in 1987 as Limited Too, Inc. by Leslie Wexner, the founder of L Brands, Inc. The company initially focused on clothing for girls aged seven to 14, but in 2008, the company rebranded as Tween Brands, Inc. and shifted its focus exclusively to the Justice brand, which targeted girls aged seven to 12. Justice offered a variety of clothing and accessories for girls, including tops, bottoms, dresses, swimwear, and jewelry. The brand was known for its bright colors, trendy styles, and inclusive messaging, which encouraged girls to be confident and empowered. Tween Brands, Inc. was headquartered in New Albany, Ohio, and operated over 900 Justice stores throughout the United States and Canada. The company also sold its products through its website and catalog. In 2009, Tween Brands, Inc. became a wholly-owned subsidiary of Ascena Retail Group, Inc., which also owns other popular retail brands such as Ann Taylor, LOFT, and Lane Bryant. In 2020, Ascena Retail Group, Inc. filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy and announced plans to close all Justice stores. The brand continues to be sold online through the Justice website.
