About Leake & Watts Services
Leake & Watts Services is a non-profit organization providing a range of services to children, adults, and families in need in the New York City metro area. The organization was founded in 1831 by John George Leake and Thomas Tileston Wells, with a mission to provide care for children who had been orphaned or abandoned. Today, Leake & Watts Services serves over 11,000 individuals annually through a variety of programs including foster care, adoption, education, disability services, and residential treatment. The organization's foster care and adoption program works to match children placed in the system with loving, permanent homes. The education program provides an array of supportive services to children with developmental and learning disabilities, as well as academic tutoring and mentoring.
