About International Trade Administration
The International Trade Administration (ITA) is an agency of the United States Department of Commerce that promotes the growth of American businesses abroad. Established in 1980, the ITA's mission is to strengthen the competitiveness of U.S. industry and promote trade and investment between the United States and other countries. The ITA offers a range of services to American businesses, including market research, matchmaking services, advocacy, trade counseling, and export training. The agency also leads trade missions and participates in international trade shows to promote American products and services overseas. One of the ITA's primary responsibilities is to enforce U.S. trade laws and agreements, such as those related to anti-dumping, countervailing duties, and intellectual property rights. The agency works closely with other branches of the U.S. government, including the Office of the United States Trade Representative (USTR), to develop and implement trade policies that benefit American exporters. Through its network of domestic and international offices, the ITA aims to support American businesses of all sizes and industries as they navigate the complex world of international trade.
