About Home Federal Bank (now Bank of the Cascades)
Home Federal Bank was a regional commercial bank headquartered in Boise, Idaho, United States. Established in 1920, it operated in Idaho, eastern Oregon, and western Montana. The bank provided a wide range of personal and business banking services, including checking and savings accounts, loans, mortgages, and online banking. It also offered wealth management and investment services through its subsidiary, HF Financial Corp. In 2014, Home Federal Bank merged with Bank of the Cascades, a community-focused commercial bank based in Bend, Oregon. Following the merger, the bank rebranded as Bank of the Cascades, and continued to provide the same high-quality banking services to its customers. Bank of the Cascades operated 46 branches in Oregon, Idaho, and Washington, with more than 500 employees and total assets of $3.2 billion. However, in 2017, Bank of the Cascades was acquired by First Interstate BancSystem, and the Bank of the Cascades name was retired. Today, the former Home Federal Bank branches operate as First Interstate Bank and continue to provide the same personalized banking services to their communities.
