About ABWE

ABWE (Association of Baptists for World Evangelism) is an international missions organization based in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. It was founded in 1927 by Dr. Raphael Thomas, a Baptist pastor and missionary who felt called to establish a network of missionaries and churches that could work together to spread the gospel around the world. Today, ABWE has over 1,000 missionaries serving in more than 70 countries, working to share the love of Christ through evangelism, discipleship, and community development projects. Its mission is to “multiply leaders, churches, and missions movements among every people.” ABWE partners with churches, organizations, and individuals from a variety of denominations and backgrounds to fulfill its mission. It provides training and support for its missionaries, as well as funding for their ministries and projects. ABWE also offers short-term missions opportunities for individuals and groups who want to get involved in global missions. In addition to its international work, ABWE also operates several schools and training centers in the United States, including a seminary, a Christian college, and a training center for missionaries and church leaders. ABWE is a member of the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability and is committed to transparency and fiscal responsibility in its operations.
