Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue (TVF&R) is a fire protection and emergency medical services agency serving the cities of Beaverton, Durham, King City, Rivergrove, Sherwood, Tigard, Tualatin, West Linn, and Wilsonville in the state of Oregon, United States. It is the second-largest fire district in the state, covering approximately 218 square miles and serving more than 500,000 residents. The agency’s mission is to protect life, property, and the environment through efficient and responsive delivery of fire protection, rescue, emergency medical, and public education services. TVF&R operates from 24 fire stations strategically located throughout its jurisdiction. The agency employs around 700 people, including firefighters, paramedics, emergency medical technicians, and support staff. It also maintains a fleet of over 70 fire apparatuses, including engines, trucks, and ambulances. TVF&R responds to a wide range of emergencies, including fires, medical emergencies, hazardous materials incidents, water rescues, and natural disasters. The agency also provides a variety of community outreach and public education programs, including fire safety inspections, CPR and first aid training, and school fire safety programs. TVF&R is governed by a five-member board of directors, and its operations are funded through a combination of property taxes, service fees, and grants. The agency has received national recognition for its innovative approaches to fire protection and emergency medical services, including the use of unmanned aerial systems (drones) to assist in emergency response.
